Both companies recorded higher sales compared to their 2023 performances.

Albinder Dhindsa, CEO of Blinkit, announced on the social media platform X that the platform was set to “cross all-time high orders in a day on Blinkit in a couple of minutes.” He also shared that the company hit its “highest-ever OPM (Orders per minute), GMV, chocolate sales, and most other metrics today.”

At its peak, Blinkit was processing 693 rakhis per minute.

In addition, Dhindsa revealed that website would switch to international mode for the festival, allowing orders from six countries, including the US, Canada, Netherlands, Germany, France and Japan.

Swiggy-Instamart co-founder Phani Kishan shared on X that the platform was “clocking higher OPM than our peak yesterday, which was already a historical high.”

He noted that the app expected to sell as many rakhis in a day as they had sold over the year, marking a fivefold increase compared to last year. — TNS
