The incident took place on Tuesday in the Narela area of Outer North Delhi.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Sadhana Singh, was a fashion design student from Faridabad, Haryana. According to officials, she had previously lived with the accused, Deepak, in Noida. Deepak, who recently started a new job in Kondli, Delhi, had been living on the sixth floor of a residential building in Narela.

The police said Sadhana, a native of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, often visited Deepak’s residence. She had arrived at his flat a day before the incident. During her stay, she reportedly learnt that Deepak’s parents had recently met a prospective bride for him, leading to a heated argument.

“This turned into a physical altercation, during which he allegedly pushed her from the balcony,” a senior police officer said.
