Sukhveer Singh Dalal, a former AAP MLA from Mundka, and Balbir Singh, a six-time member of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, officially joined the BJP on Saturday. The event was held in the presence of Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, and BJP party joining committee convener Ashish Sood.Sachdeva immediately appointed Balbir Singh as Secretary in the Delhi BJP, recognising his contributions to education and his strong influence in the community. Singh is also the sibling of Jitendra Singh Shanti, an AAP candidate from Shahdara.

During the induction ceremony, Sachdeva highlighted the failures of the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government, particularly its unfulfilled promises regarding the Sports University project, despite considerable funds being allocated. He stated, “The Sports University, worth Rs 2,100 crore, has only existed on paper. From the vice-chancellor to professors, everyone has been appointed and paid for five years, yet not a single brick has been laid.”

Dalal, who initiated the Sports University project during his tenure as an MLA, also criticised the AAP government’s inaction. “I passed the Sports University project during my tenure, but to date, no progress has been made,” Dalal remarked, expressing frustration over the lack of progress.
