According to the complaint filed at the Farsh Bazar police station, the incident occurred around 1.50 pm at a gold smelting shop owned by Shankar Pujari. At the time of the robbery, three employees — Vikram, Jeevan and Vikas — were present in the shop along with Pujari’s brother Shambu. Moments before the incident, Shambu had reportedly gone home for lunch.

The two suspects entered the premises claiming to be officers on duty and overpowered the staff. They then fled with approximately Rs 20 lakh in cash and 1,400 g of gold. A case under relevant sections of robbery and impersonation has been registered, and teams have been formed to identify and apprehend the culprits, officials said.
