Faridabad police issue over 73,000 challans in a month
In the past month, Faridabad police have issued a total of 73,705 traffic challans, imposing fines worth several lakhs of rupees for various violations.
A police official reported that the violations during the National Road Safety Month included 5,592 challans for overspeeding, 18,933 for two-wheeler riders not wearing helmets, and 7,008 for driving in the wrong direction. Additionally, 847 challans were issued for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Wrong parking violations also contributed to the total, with 16,280 challans issued. The police further conducted a mass awareness campaign, holding 21 programs at various locations, including educational institutions.
The police also registered five cases under relevant sections for severe inconvenience caused to commuters by improper parking. Four of these cases were filed in the jurisdiction of the City Police Station and Ballabgarh, with one registered at the Sarai Khawaja police station.
Authorities have assured that they will continue their drive against traffic violations and take strict action to maintain discipline on the roads.
