New Delhi: Several rounds of gunshots were fired outside a car showroom in West Delhi’s Naraina area on Friday evening, the police said. According to the police, more than two dozens of live rounds were shot outside the showroom. No one was injured in the firing.

Transport body gets accolades

New Delhi: The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), which operates rapid regional trains, on Friday said it has won the ‘Best Transit Award’ for seamless connectivity and the ‘Overall Winner Award’ at the UIC Sustainability Impact Awards 2024. These awards, presented by the International Union of Railways in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Foundation, recognise NCRTC’s commitment to sustainability and innovative public transit solutions, the corporation said.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.

The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense of the term.

The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
