The Capital saw a spirited launch of its weekly health campaign as the ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’ initiative pedalled off from the iconic Major Dhyan Chand Stadium on Sunday. The event drew a diverse crowd of fitness lovers, families and youth, all rallying around the cause of health, fitness and obesity awareness.

Bollywood actor and president of Rugby India Association, Rahul Bose, flagged off the event and joined participants in the short yet symbolic 2.5-km cycling route. Emphasising the importance of shared fitness experiences, Bose spoke passionately about the physical and emotional benefits of exercising in a group.

“Cycling with your friends, neighbours and community not only boosts your physical health but also builds bonds. You feed off each other’s energy — it makes fitness fun and sustainable,” he said.

Highlighting the social nature of the event, Bose, who is famous for the movie, Chain Kuli Ki Main Kuli, said, “When you’re alone, you need a lot of willpower to stay consistent with fitness. But in a collective setting like this, that burden is shared — and the benefits are doubled.”
