In the aftermath of the first Cabinet meeting of the newly formed BJP-led Delhi Government, former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi criticised the decisions taken, while BJP National President JP Nadda and National Vice-President Baijayant Jay Panda lauded the actions as a testament to “Modi’s guarantee”.
At the meeting, the Delhi Cabinet passed proposals to present 14 pending Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports and implement the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
In a post, Atishi wrote, “The BJP’s Delhi Government has started deceiving the people of Delhi from day one. Before the elections, Prime Minister Modi and all BJP leaders promised that the first Cabinet meeting would pass a plan to give Rs 2,500 per month to every woman in Delhi. But today, the first Cabinet meeting happened, and no decision was made on this promise. It is sad that a woman Chief Minister broke her promise to women on the very first day.”
Meanwhile, JP Nadda took to X (formerly Twitter) to praise the Delhi government’s decisions, stating, “‘Modi’s guarantee means the guarantee of fulfilling every promise.’ I congratulate the Delhi Government for implementing the Ayushman Bharat Scheme in the first Cabinet meeting. The AAP government had kept Delhi residents deprived of this beneficial scheme for 10 years due to its narrow and self-serving politics. As a result, millions of citizens in Delhi were denied access to quality healthcare.”
Nadda further emphasised, “The BJP’s ‘Commitment to a Developed Delhi’ in its manifesto included the implementation of this scheme. This decision in the first cabinet meeting proves that under the guidance of PM Modi, the Delhi BJP government is committed to fulfilling its development goals in accordance with public sentiment.”
Baijayant Panda also praised the decisions, saying, “Modi’s guarantee means the guarantee of fulfilling every promise! With the double-engine government of BJP in Delhi, the first cabinet meeting has made it clear that promises made to the public are not just election promises, but commitments. Ayushman Bharat will now be implemented in Delhi, ensuring better healthcare for millions. The decision to present the pending CAG reports in the assembly is a strong message against corruption, marking a significant step toward transparency and accountability. The BJP does what it says!”
