Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Delhi Secretariat with district magistrates (DM), sub-divisional magistrates (SDM), sub-registrars and other senior officials, Gupta said the exemplary management of the Kanwar Yatra and recent flood emergencies reflected the dedication of the city’s administrative machinery.

The CM announced the launch of an annual awards programme to recognise excellence in governance. Under the scheme, officers and departments will be honoured each year in categories such as the best engineer, the best department, the best SDM and the best DM.

Gupta directed officials to ensure smooth management of upcoming public events such as Ramleela and Durga Puja through a single-window clearance system, placing strict responsibility for security, sanitation, healthcare and traffic arrangements.

She also issued instructions for timely issuance of permissions, speedy disposal of pending income and caste certificates, and regular public hearings in every district to address grievances.

Zero tolerance for encroachment was another focus of the meeting. The CM directed removal of illegal occupations from government land, construction of boundary walls and measures to prevent fresh encroachments.

Highlighting the significance of the ‘One District, One Product’ campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gupta asked officials to identify and promote each district’s unique products and submit detailed reports for effective branding. Gupta added that the Delhi Government was working to ensure “better synergy between districts and municipal zones so that citizens’ needs are addressed more efficiently.”

Chief Secretary Dharmendra, Divisional Commissioner Neeraj Semwal and other senior officers attended the meeting. The CM praised Divisional Commissioner Semwal and DMs Chaitanya, Amol Srivastava and G Sudhakar for their round-the-clock efforts during the recent emergencies.
