The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on Wednesday by organising a series of cleanliness activities, including shramdaan drives, mega sanitation campaigns and plantation initiatives, as part of the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ campaign.

These events, held across all 12 zones of the city, witnessed active participation from senior officials, including the Commissioner, Additional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, and Zonal Heads, as well as local leaders, NGOs, Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs), MCD staff, school students, and residents. The programs highlighted the collective effort to foster a cleaner and greener Delhi.

To further mark the occasion, a grand event was held at Shaheedi Park near ITO, celebrating ‘Swachh Bharat Diwas’ with a focus on sustainability and community participation. MCD Commissioner Ashwani Kumar presented awards to Safai Sainiks, malaria workers, and winners of various competitions organised during the campaign.
