Gangster’s father among 6 held in crackdown on crime
The Delhi Police carried out a massive crackdown on the organised crime across Delhi and the NCR in the wee hours of Thursday and arrested six people including father of jailed gangster Neeraj Bawana.
The coordinated effort resulted in the detention of 36 suspects, with six individuals formally arrested for their alleged links to notorious gangs such as those led by Kala Jathedi, Jitender, alias Gogi, Neeraj Bawana, Rajesh Bawana, Tillu Tajpuriya, Kapil Sangwan, alias Nandu, and Nettu Dabodha.
Those arrested include Prem Singh Sehrawat, father of gangster Neeraj Bawania, Shaktiman (34), Vedpal (55), Naveen (30), Ankit alias Vishal (25) and Hariom, alias Ankit, alias Akki (25).
Raids were conducted at 58 locations spanning Delhi, Sonepat, Sampla, Jhajjar, Rohtak, and Bahadurgarh, involving 820 police personnel divided into 39 teams from the Outer North district and 19 teams from the Rohini district.
The exercise was led by Inspector-rank officers and ACPs under the supervision of DCP Hareshwar Swami, with overall direction from Joint Commissioner of Police Vijay Singh. During the raids, police seized cash worth Rs 49.60 lakh, 1.36 kg of gold, 14.60 kg of silver, a bullet-proof SUV, a motorcycle, 26 mobile phones, a laptop, seven pistols and revolvers, a buttondar knife, one magazine, 40 live cartridges, and several cleaning tools for firearms. All confiscated mobile phones and electronic devices have been sent for forensic analysis.
