Calling it a “historic and deeply emotional decision,” Gupta said the sacrifice of these employees — including doctors, nurses, sanitation workers, teachers and other frontline staff — will remain etched in Delhi’s history as one of its most selfless chapters, assuring that the government stands firmly with their families.

Initially, 10 families will receive the assistance, with more cases under review. A Group of Ministers, comprising Cabinet Ministers Ashish Sood, Kapila Mishra and Pankaj Kumar Singh, has been tasked with overseeing the process.
