The CM described the complete removal of GST on healthcare and life insurance as a “historic and people-centric decision”. She said the move would empower citizens to secure their futures without financial strain. “Every individual will now be free to purchase insurance and safeguard their life. This reform will not only enhance financial security but also uphold the spirit of social justice,” Gupta said.
She expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, adding that the people of Delhi wholeheartedly welcomed the changes. Gupta also hailed the relief measures for the education sector, noting that the exemption of GST on educational materials would ease financial pressure on parents and students. “This step will make education more affordable and accessible, enabling every child to move towards a brighter future,” she said.
The CM further highlighted that GST exemptions for agriculture and renewable energy would have long-term benefits, particularly for Delhi’s green energy push. “Delhi has consistently promoted solar and renewable energy, and these reforms will give a fresh push to those initiatives,” she added.
