Vijender Gupta, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Rohini Assembly Constituency and Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, led a massive Padayatra in Sector 14, Rohini, on Tuesday. The procession, which began at Sheetal Apartment and passed through localities like Sundar Apartment, Tulsi Apartment, and Prashant Vihar, saw enthusiastic participation from BJP workers, local residents, and community leaders.

Gupta was joined by Municipal Councillor Pravesh Wahi, Resident Welfare Association (RWA) representatives, Mandal workers, and Shakti Kendra coordinators. The Padayatra aimed to engage with residents on local issues, focusing on the shortcomings of the Kejriwal-led AAP government and highlighting the achievements of the Modi government.

At a public meeting in Prashant Vihar, Gupta launched a scathing attack on the AAP government, criticising its failure to deliver on promises related to water, electricity, and healthcare. He accused the Kejriwal administration of prioritizing advertising over essential services, such as road maintenance, Mohalla Clinics, and quality education.

“The condition of Delhi’s roads is deplorable, and the quality of education is deteriorating,” Gupta stated. He also alleged corruption within the AAP government, claiming it had misused public trust for political gain.

Gupta highlighted the achievements of the Narendra Modi-led central government, including welfare schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and Har Ghar Jal, which, he said, had significantly benefited Delhi’s citizens. He also pointed to progress in metro expansion and road connectivity projects under the Modi administration.

The BJP leader assured the residents of Rohini that the party would continue to prioritize local issues, which he claimed had been neglected by the AAP government. “Despite a lack of support from the Delhi government, the BJP has ensured substantial development in Rohini,” Gupta added.
