In an effort to foster harmony between the Gurugram police, Rapid Action Force, and the local community, a joint team of the Gurugram police and the Rapid Action Force conducted a foot march in the Sadar police station area on Saturday. This initiative, which is part of a series of familiarisation exercises, will continue across various police station areas in Gurugram district from February 7 to February 13.

A spokesperson for the Gurugram police said that the exercise, led by Rapid Action Force Deputy Commandant Sunil Kumar, was conducted as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The team reached the Sadar police station, where they met with ACP Sadar Yashwant Yadav. The meeting focused on gathering information about the geographical layout of the area and key institutions within the jurisdiction.

On the first day, the team conducted a familiarisation exercise, focusing on certain sensitive and hypersensitive areas.

The march covered locations such as Bakhtawar Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, Hero Honda Chowk, and Subhash Chowk, all under the Sadar police station’s purview. The team interacted with senior citizens, social workers, and other community members, gathering insights about past riots and incidents in the area. They also sought public feedback on potential future disturbances and safety concerns.
