Highlight ‘failures’ of BJP, AAP govts: Delhi Congress chief to party workers

Addressing the executive committee meeting of the Babarpur District Congress Committee, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Devender Yadav emphasised the urgency of preparing for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

He called on Congress workers to vigorously highlight the failures of both the BJP and AAP governments, asserting that the public is increasingly looking towards Congress for effective governance.

“Time is running out for the Delhi Assembly elections, and it is crucial for Congress workers to expose the anti-people policies of the BJP and AAP governments,” Yadav stated. He criticised the ruling parties for their “indifference” to public welfare issues, such as power cuts, water crisis, inflated power bills, corruption, waterlogging, poor road conditions and pollution. “These issues have made life miserable for Delhiites. It’s imperative that we reach out to local residents and inform them about the failures of the current governments and the efforts by the Congress to address these problems,” he added.

Yadav also highlighted the significance of the enhanced vote share in the Lok Sabha elections as a positive indicator for the Congress in the upcoming Assembly elections. “We need to consolidate our position at the ground level,” he said. “To strengthen our organisation, we will soon approve the proposal for 258 block Congress committees and divide each block into two divisions. We are also working on forming sectors comprising five-seven booths each,” he said.

Emphasising the need for grassroots engagement, Yadav urged Congress workers to gather voter opinions a month before the Assembly elections to understand the electorate’s concerns. He praised the party’s efforts in connecting with various community groups, including the poor, middle class, SC, ST, minorities and labourers.
