‘I don't need RC, licence’; AAP MLA’s son booked for dangerous driving
Delhi Police have booked AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan's son for allegedly riding a motorcycle without a helmet and misbehaving with the cops, a police officer said.
He was also slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 for various traffic offences.
According to the officer, a police patrol party on Nafees Road, Batla House, spotted two boys riding a motorcycle in the wrong lane, creating a loud noise using a modified silencer and riding in a zigzag manner.
The motorcycle was intercepted and the riders were questioned.
The officer told The Tribune that one of the boys called up the AAP MLA, who then spoke to the Jamia Nagar SHO “rudely”.
As per the General Diary entry, accessed by The Tribune, the boy who was riding the bike allegedly misbehaved with the policemen and accused them of deliberately stopping his bike as it had an AAP sticker on it.
When the policemen asked for the driving licence and RC, he told them that he is the son of the local MLA.
"I don't need an RC and a licence. I'm MLA Amanatullah Khan's son," an excerpt from the diary entry read.
According to the diary entry, the MLA “misbehaved” with the police officer over the call and said, "Mujhe bhi band kardo (You should arrest me as well)."
The police impounded the bike and registered a case under the Motor Vehicle Act.
