Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has called upon party cadres to actively engage at the grassroots level to ensure the success of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. He warned that the failure of this mass outreach campaign could result in their subjugation under the ruling BJP.

Speaking at the Nyay Sankalp Yatra organised by the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) at the Ram Lila ground in Geeta Colony, Kharge stressed the significance of the fight to safeguard democracy and the country’s Constitution. He emphasised, “If you fail in this fight, you’ll permanently become a slave of Modi.”

PM plays religion card

Kharge encouraged party members to visit households and convey Rahul’s message during this challenging journey undertaken by him from Kanyakumari to Kashmir and now from Manipur to Maharashtra. He attributed this extensive campaign to the injustice perpetrated by the BJP that Rahul is striving to address, despite the harsh conditions. Expressing concern, the Congress leader highlighted that individuals, including sensible-speaking Congress members, are facing FIRs. He alleged that the BJP is employing such tactics to intimidate both the public and Opposition parties into compliance.

Kharge accused the Central Government of misusing probe agencies to target Opposition leaders, asserting that 411 leaders from Opposition parties had been labelled as corrupt and imprisoned in the past 10 years. He claimed, “If such leaders switch to the BJP, their corruption label miraculously disappears through the ‘Shah washing machine’.” Moreover, Kharge accused the Prime Minister of trying to “impose his views on the country and punishing everyone for gaining power”. He stated, “Our fight is against the RSS and BJP; we fight for the people. The BJP wants to separate the nation and alienate the poor.”

Addressing party cadres regarding preparations for the Lok Sabha elections, he emphasised, “If we win Delhi, we will win the nation, but for that, each party worker has to go from house to house and reach every human, and only then will we achieve something.”
