New Delhi: L-G VK Saxena on Thursday directed the Delhi Traffic Police to re-launch the modified and upgraded version of the Traffic Sentinel Mobile App — “Traffic Prahari” — for enhancing citizen participation in traffic management. A Raj Niwas official said: “The Traffic Sentinel scheme (TSS) is a unique scheme where common citizens act as the eyes and ears of traffic police and help reduce the number of violations on roads by reporting the same to the police.” Saxena asked traffic officials to introduce a monthly reward system. The first reward will be of Rs 50,000, followed by Rs 25,000, 15,000 and Rs 10,000.
Man arrested for murder
Gurugram: The Gurugram police arrested a man for stabbing to death a 25-year-old man in the Rajendra Park area on August 18. The suspect has been taken on police remand after being produced in a city court today for questioning. He has been identified as Kamal (23), a resident of Uttam Nagar in Delhi. A hospital had on August 18 informed the police about the death of Sonu Bairwa (25), a resident of Alwar in Rajasthan. OC
2 men beaten up by teens, 3 held
New Delhi: Two men were beaten up and hit with bricks by group of teenagers over a minor issue in north Delhi's Burari area, officials said on Thursday. Three of the attackers were apprehended while the others are yet to be caught, they said. A CCTV footage of the incident surfaced on social media. PTI
