In brief: Delhi's AQI ‘very poor’ for 8th consecutive day

The national capital continued to grapple with toxic air as its air quality remained in the "very poor" category for the eighth consecutive day on Sunday. The Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 329 at 9 am, a slight dip from Saturday's 24-hour average of 346, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). Out of the 38 monitoring stations across the city, 23 stations recorded "very poor" AQI. PTI

Trial runs on RRTS corridor

Housing and Urban Affairs Secretary Srinivas Katikithala on Sunday took stock of the preparations for commencement of operations on the Delhi section of the RRTS corridor. He also inaugurated solar power plant at the Ghaziabad station, a statement said.The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is undertaking extensive trial runs on the Delhi section of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor for passenger operations. Hindu College alumni reunite

Hindu College hosted a special alumni meet, bringing together former residents of its historic boys hostel from across decades to celebrate their shared bond. The event held on Saturday attracted alumni from states such as Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Bihar, Assam, and Gujarat, as well as from countries like Switzerland and the United States, who reminisced about their time at the hostel. A highlight of the evening was the distribution of unique mementos, crafted from the wooden remains of the hostel's old furniture. PTI
