In Brief: ‘Namaste gang’ member held

New Delhi: A 37-year-old member of ‘Namaste gang’ wanted in a case of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act was nabbed on Tuesday. The accused has been identified as Wasim, a resident of Gautam Vihar. He was wanted in a case registered in 2018 at the Jagatpuri police station. Two accused — Javed and Iqrar — have already been arrested in the case. The gang used to target people especially on vehicle. Javed used to engage the victims in conversation whereas other associates used to rob them, the police said.

ABVP protests at Ambedkar varsity

New Delhi: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) protested at the Dr BR Ambedkar University in Delhi on Tuesday, demanding the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) and Four Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUP) for the 2022 batch. The protest also called for a public apology from the All-India Students’ Association (AISA) and Students’ Federation of India (SFI), improved infrastructure and the revival of the placement cell. ABVP AUD president Prince Pandey criticised the university's handling of infrastructure and administrative issues.
