New Delhi: To manage the expected surge in passengers during Raksha Bandhan on August 19, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has announced that additional standby trains will be on alert across its network. These trains will be introduced into service as needed to accommodate the increased rush. According to a notice issued by Anuj Dayal, Principal Executive Director of Corporate Communications at DMRC, additional personnel will be deployed at Metro stations to handle the anticipated rush. The DMRC will operate extra ticket counters to facilitate quicker transactions for passengers. TNS
Rock climbing facility at SBS
New Delhi: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) on Saturday inaugurated a Rock Climbing facility at the Squash and Badminton Stadium (SBS) for the first time in any of its sports complex. Cops reward IT professional
New Delhi: A 27-year-old IT professional has been rewarded for displaying exemplary courage by chasing and catching a truck driver running away after hitting a pedestrian in West Delhi’s Pashim Vihar. According to ACP (Traffic) Dinesh Kumar Gupta, a PCR call was received regarding an injured person lying on the outer Ring Road on August 17 at 3 am. The police reached the spot but no eyewitness was found. Meanwhile, the police received another call from Ritik Vats, a resident of Mohan Garden, who chased and caught the accused truck driver. PTI
