IYC files complaint on “rain theft”

Stating about the complaint, Delhi IYC chief Akshay Lakra stated that rain costing Rs 1.25 crore has been stolen in Delhi.

“Planes took off from Kanpur to Delhi in the name of cloud seeding, and then the BJP government puts out big advertisements promising rain in Delhi within 15 to 20 minutes, providing relief from pollution. However, no such rain was seen anywhere in Delhi, so we have come to file a complaint against this rain theft,” he said.

Lakra demanded that the Delhi Police immediately investigate and arrest those within the Delhi government involved in this rain theft.

He also appealed to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to refrain from misleading the residents of Delhi by engaging in such activities and to take immediate steps to provide relief from pollution.

This came after the Delhi government conducted two trials on Tuesday, however there was no rain reported in the capital city.

The Delhi Government, in collaboration with IIT-Kanpur, conducted the trials in parts of Delhi, including Burari, North Karol Bagh, Mayur Vihar, and Badli. The government’s report stated that two precipitation events were recorded—Noida at 4 pm (0.1mm of rain) and Greater Noida at 4 pm (0.2 mm).
