A Delhi court on Monday directed the Delhi Police to supply a copy of the supplementary charge sheet to AAP leader Raghav Chadha filed on his complaint regarding the 2020 Delhi Jal Board (DJB) office vandalism case.
The order was issued by Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (ACJM) Paras Dalal in response to Chadha’s plea seeking court-monitored investigation into the case. The court has scheduled the next hearing for April 7.
The case pertains to the alleged vandalism at the Delhi Jal Board headquarters on December 24, 2020. The incident, which occurred during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, led to the registration of an FIR by the Delhi Police for violation of Covid-19 norms.
The alleged attack was reportedly led by then Delhi BJP chief Adesh Gupta, along with BJP MP Yogender Chandolia and other party members.
According to Chadha, who was then vice-chairman of the DJB, the attack was politically motivated and orchestrated to disrupt the functioning of the water utility.
