Jilted lover fires at woman friend, held

The Gurugram police have arrested a person for opening firing at his woman friend.

The accused has been identified as Vipin (31), a native of Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh. He resides at Dundahera village and works as a driver with a private firm.

The victim, Shivangi, a resident of Pratapgarh in Uttar Pradesh, also lived at Dundahera village.

A few days ago, Shivangi had stopped talking to Vipin. Enraged, Vipin shot Shivangi with a country-made pistol on Thursday at around 10 am in the village.

The bullet pierced through Shivangi’s shoulder and she was admitted to a hospital.

The police have recovered the pistol from the possession of the accused.

An FIR has been registered against Vipin under relevant sections of the BNS at the Udyog Vihar police station.

“The case is being probed from all angles. We will investigate from where Vipin obtained the weapon. The accused has been arrested and is being interrogated,” said a spokesperson of the Gurugram police.
