With Delhi Assembly elections generating more and more heat with each passing day, the AAP national convener has challenged the rival party’s potential chief ministerial candidate to a public debate.

Speaking at a press conference, Kejriwal urged Bidhuri to account for his work and vision for Delhi, stating, “I congratulate Ramesh Bidhuri for being chosen as BJP’s CM candidate. He must explain what work he has done in the past ten years as an MP and outline his plans for Delhi if he becomes CM.”

Kejriwal also issued a challenge, proposing a debate to compare their records and policies. “To strengthen democracy, I propose a public debate between BJP’s CM candidate and me, in front of the people of Delhi and the media. Let the public decide based on accomplishments, vision, and plans for the future.”

The former Delhi CM alleged large-scale voter list manipulation by BJP leaders. Writing to the Chief Election Commissioner, he claimed BJP MPs and ministers are creating fake votes in the New Delhi Assembly constituency by transferring voter IDs to their residential addresses.

“Applications for 33 new votes were submitted using BJP candidate Parvesh Verma’s address. Are we expected to believe that overnight, 33 people shifted their residence to his house? If this was done with his consent, he must be disqualified from contesting elections,” Kejriwal wrote in his letter.

“There are cases where a single-room slum has applications for 30 new voter IDs, or a small shop has 40 applications. This is nothing less than an attempt at large-scale booth capturing through backdoor tactics.” he added.

Kejriwal urged the Election Commission to halt alleged suspicious voter transfers, investigate the involvement of BJP MPs and ministers in the alleged malpractices and file criminal FIRs.
