Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday accused Arvind Kejriwal of falsely accusing the Haryana Government of mixing poison in the Yamuna and dared the AAP supremo to make public the Delhi Jal Board report that he cited to level the charge.

He also dared Kejriwal to tell the people of Delhi the name of the poison that he claimed was mixed in the Yamuna.

“Victory and defeat are part of every election, but you (AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal) have accused Haryana of mixing poison in the Yamuna and scared the people of Delhi. This is cheap politics,” he said, while addressing a gathering at Kalkaji.

AAP on Monday accused the ruling BJP in Haryana of “intentionally” draining industrial waste into the Yamuna, with Kejriwal alleging that it was trying to kill people by mixing “poison” in the river.

Shah on Tuesday attacked both the Congress and AAP saying that neither of the two parties could develop Delhi. The Home Minister held a roadshow from Mool Chand Metro station to Garhi Chowk in the Kasturba Nagar constituency from where the party has fielded Neeraj Basoya against AAP’s Ramesh Pehalwan and Congress’ Abhishek Dutt.

Shah waved at his supporters and showered rose petals on them all along the route as Basoya stood beside him along with New Delhi MP Bansuri Swaraj.

Shah’s caravan moved at a minimal speed on the jam-packed streets of Kasturba Nagar with a sea of supporters beating drums and trumpets.

Shah later addressed a large gathering of BJP supporters at Kalkaji where he sought votes for Ramesh Bidhuri, whom he termed as his “dear friend and a politician who works for the people”.

During his 23-minute speech, Shah raised multiple issues to corner both the Congress and AAP. He called Kejriwal the “biggest liar” and took a swipe at Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge over his remarks on taking a bath at Kumbh.

Kharge had taken a dig at Shah over his visit to Prayagraj at and stated that a dip in the Ganga wont remove poverty.

Responding to Kharge’s remark, Shah said, “The Congress under Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi have always insulted the Sanatana Dharma. Kharge ji, if you do not have any reverence (for Maha Kumbh), there is no compulsion. But don’t make fun of the reverence of more than 48 crore people visiting the Kumbh to take a holy dip.”

Later, Shah took part in another roadshow in the Badrapur constituency of southwest Delhi.
