With just 10 days left for the high-pitched poll battle of the 70-member Delhi Assembly, the verbal attacks between the parties are getting blistering and bitter with each passing day.

As BJP released its final part of the manifesto on Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah minced no words to attack AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, calling him corrupt and a liar who destroyed the national capital in the last years.

“For 10 years, Kejriwal ji’s AAP has been plagued by misgovernance, corruption, and appeasement in Delhi. The AAP government has turned the entire city into a mess, breaking promises and cheating the people of Delhi,” Amit Shah said while addressing a rally in west Delhi’s Rajouri Garden, where the party has fielded Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

He accused AAP of cheating the people of Delhi on every front. “In the name of connectivity, they have provided broken roads. In the name of mohalla clinics, they have cheated in medical tests. During the rainy season, they have turned Delhi roads into a mess. Kejriwal has ended the concept of good governance,” Shah said.

Shah assured the people of Delhi that all public welfare schemes initiated by the AAP government will continue if BJP comes to power. “They are misleading the public by claiming that BJP will shut down these schemes. However, I assure you that no public welfare scheme will be discontinued. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise is set in stone,” Shah said.

Shah also criticised Kejriwal for opening liquor shops near gurdwaras, temples, and schools. “They had promised to close liquor shops in residential areas. Have they fulfilled this promise? On the contrary, they have opened liquor shops near places of worship and schools, and have been involved in scams worth thousands of crores of rupees,” Shah said.

Furthermore, Shah brought up the excise policy case, which led to the arrest of several AAP leaders, including Kejriwal and former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. “They have committed a ration card scam of Rs 5,400 crore, a bus purchase scam of Rs 4,500 crore, a CCTV scam of Rs 571 crore, and have built a Sheesh Mahal worth Rs 52 crore,” Shah alleged.
