Kin of man who drowned in Yamuna get Rs 10L ex gratia

The Delhi Government on Thursday handed over an ex gratia assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the family of Kuldeep Nailwal, who died after slipping and falling into the Yamuna River.

Nailwal had drowned near Sonia Vihar on October 4, 2025.

The cheque was presented to the deceased’s wife, Deepa Nailwal, by Law & Justice Minister and Karawal Nagar MLA Kapil Mishra at the Delhi Secretariat.

Extending condolences to the grieving family, Mishra said the government stands firmly with them in this difficult time and assured that the family will continue to receive all necessary support.

He added that arrangements will be made for employment of Deepa Nailwal and that he will take responsibility for the education of the couple’s daughter.

After receiving the cheque, Deepa Nailwal extended her gratutude to the government and MLA Kapil Mishra.
