Land pooling applications open till April 30: Bidhuri
BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri has stated that the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is expediting the implementation of the Land Pooling Policy and Green Development Area (GDA) Policy in the Capital. He announced that applications for land pooling can be submitted online till April 30.
Bidhuri had recently raised the issue in the Lok Sabha during the Zero Hour, emphasising the need for these policies. He highlighted that the unplanned expansion of unauthorised colonies is pushing Delhi towards a slum-like condition. Implementing the Land Pooling and GDA policies, he said, would help regulate urban development, generate significant government revenue, and ensure that farmers receive fair market value for their land. Additionally, these schemes are expected to create substantial employment opportunities.
Following his appeal, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal provided updates on the progress of these policies. In an official letter, the minister stated that online applications for land pooling remain open until April 30. Under this scheme, a total of 7,630 hectares of land is to be pooled, with consortiums already achieving 70% pooling in designated areas. The DDA has issued notices for consortium formation in 15 land pooling zones, and some consortiums have already been established.
