Leaders express grief over chopper crash deaths

Several leaders expressed grief over the crash of a helicopter near the forested area of Gaurikund in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district on Sunday morning that claimed the lives of all seven onboard, including the pilot.

The helicopter was en route from Shri Kedarnath Dham to Guptkashi when the accident took place.

Delhi Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa took to social media platform X to offer his condolences. “The helicopter crash near Gaurikund is extremely painful,” he wrote. “I pray to Baba Kedar to give peace to the departed souls and strength to their families to endure this unbearable grief.”

BJP leader Ashish Sood also expressed his condolences, calling the incident “deeply saddening.” In a post on X, he said, “The helicopter tragedy in Kedarnath is extremely tragic. Words cannot describe the grief of the families who lost their loved ones. I pray to Lord Mahakal to give peace to the departed souls and the strength to their families to bear this irreparable loss.”
