LG, CM urge NSUT engineers to shape India’s future

Addressing the graduating students, the dignitaries said the convocation was not only a celebration of academic achievement but also of the future that young engineers will shape through knowledge, innovation and values. Students were urged to develop solutions to challenges facing the nation and Delhi, particularly in engineering, green technology, infrastructure and innovation.
Highlighting the role of engineering in contemporary times, the Lieutenant Governor said, “Sustainable development is the true benchmark of modern engineering.” Speaking on the theme ‘Engineering Education for Sustainable and Inclusive Development’, Saxena stressed ecological balance, environmental responsibility, and inclusivity, adding that engineering must serve society and reach the last person. He urged graduates to align their professional journeys with India’s climate action and sustainability commitments.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta underlined the responsibility of youth in shaping the country’s future. “The direction of the nation and Delhi will be shaped by the resolve and innovation of the youth,” she said, noting that institutions like NSUT advance academic excellence through technical education, research, and Centres of Excellence. She also referred to the unveiling of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose statues at the East and West Campuses as a moment of pride and inspiration for students.
Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood congratulated the graduates, remarking, “Today’s students are the architects of the journey towards ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’,” and highlighted India’s rapid progress towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat, supported by a vibrant start-up ecosystem, global partnerships, and innovation-driven growth.
The ceremony was attended by Google Asia Pacific President Sanjay Gupta, the Vice-Chancellor, faculty members, parents, and students. Statues of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose were unveiled at the East and West Campuses, alongside the inauguration of a Skill Centre and a Centre for Industry 4.0. Degrees were conferred upon undergraduate, postgraduate, and research scholars, with best wishes extended for their future endeavours.
