Manjeet, who was injured in the attack, said on Sunday night, he had gone out for a walk towards the pig farm of Gudhana village. Ritesh, Krish, Deepanshu, Kaku and two other boys were smoking hookah there. They started abusing Ritesh and started fighting, then he intervened and stopped them.

“The accused, Kaku, Deepanshu and 10-12 other youths, attacked Ritesh with sticks, rods and iron rods around 11 pm in front of the grocery store. When Ritesh’s uncle Rajkumar and I tried to intervene, they beat up us as well. Following this, they threatened to kill us and fled after leaving their motorcycles at the spot. We rushed Ritesh to hospital, where doctors declared him dead,” as Manjeet said in his complaint.

Following the complaint, an FIR was registered at the Pataudi police station under relevant sections of the BNS.

“An investigation by the police revealed that this incident was carried out due to the grudge of a quarrel between the accused over abusive language while smoking hookah. We have taken eight suspects into custody and are questioning them,” said a spokesperson for the Gurugram police.
