The court of Additional Sessions Judge Jasmine Sharma on Friday sentenced an accused to 20 years of rigourous punishment and a fine. The convict was forcing a physical relation on a 16-year-old minor on the pretext of marriage.

According to the police, on July 4 in 2023, a man had filed a complaint at the Palam Vihar Police Station, that a man named Rajiv, who visited his grocery store over a month, was forcing a physical relation on his daughter on the pretext of marriage. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered and the police arrested the accused, a native of Nalanda district in Bihar.

“On the basis of the charge sheet and the evidence and witnesses collected by the police, the court on Friday sentenced the convict to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000,” a Gurugram police spokesperson said.
