The court of Additional Sessions Judge Jasmine Sharma on Thursday while convicting an accused for raping a minor on the pretext of marriage, sentenced him to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment (RI).

According to the police, on June 16 in 2021, a man had filed a complaint at the Sector 9A police station that a man was forcing a physical relation on his 15-year-old daughter on the pretext of marriage. Following the complaint, an FIR was registered and the police arrested the accused, Yuraj Mondal, a native of West Bengal.
