Man sexually assaults patient in govt hospital ward, arrested

A 23-year-old man was arrested on Monday morning for allegedly sexually assaulting a female patient inside a ward at Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital (JPC) in Northeast Delhi. The hospital authorities informed the police about the incident.

According to officials, the incident took place in a general ward where the victim and the accused, Md Faiz, a resident of Kachchi Khajuri, were undergoing treatment.

“On reaching the spot, it was found that a female patient admitted inside Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital was sexually assaulted by another patient admitted in the same ward,” said a senior police officer.

The police confirmed that Md Faiz was arrested from the spot and a case has been registered at the New Usmanpur Police Station. Further investigations were on.
