According to officials, the New Usmanpur police received a call around 11:27 pm reporting that a man’s body was lying near Khajuri Chowk in the Khadar area. A police team rushed to the spot and found a man with multiple stab injuries.

The crime and forensic science (FSL) teams were called to collect evidence. The body was sent to the mortuary for post-mortem examination.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Gajendra worked at a local salon. However, the motive behind the killing remains unclear. The police have registered a case of murder at the New Usmanpur police station and launched an investigation.

A senior police officer said teams had been formed to probe the case from all possible angles, including robbery, personal enmity or a dispute that may have escalated into violence.

“The exact reason behind the murder will be known only after the accused is identified,” the officer said.

The investigation is ongoing, and efforts are being made to trace those involved in the crime.
