The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will conduct elections for the posts of Mayor and Deputy Mayor on April 25, according to an official notice issued by the MCD Secretary’s Office on Friday.

As per the notification, the elections will take place during the ordinary House meeting scheduled for April 25, with voting set to begin at 2 pm.

The nomination process will start on April 15 and candidates will have to file their nominations till April 21, an official source in the MCD confirmed.

The upcoming elections are expected to see a fresh political contest between the ruling AAP and the BJP, both of which have been locked in a prolonged tussle over civic governance in the Capital.
