Israeli Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, paid a courtesy visit to the head office of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Wednesday. He was warmly received by Delhi Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh, along with MCD Commissioner Ashwani Kumar, Deputy Mayor Jai Bhagwan Yadav, Leader of the House Pravesh Verma, Vice-Chairperson of the Standing Committee Sundar Singh, and senior municipal officials.
During the high-level meeting at MCD headquarters, Mayor Raja Iqbal Singh briefed the Ambassador on the corporation’s civic services and ongoing efforts to make Delhi cleaner, greener and more efficient. “The Municipal Corporation of Delhi is focused on adopting innovative technologies across key sectors like solid waste management, primary education, healthcare and public infrastructure to build a smart, citizen-centric administration,” the Mayor said.
Ambassador Azar praised Delhi’s civic infrastructure and cultural heritage and extended an invitation to Mayor Singh to visit Israel to explore its advanced models of urban development.
MCD Commissioner Ashwani Kumar echoed these sentiments, stating, “Israel has excelled in public convenience systems, smart city planning and digital civic services. Delhi can greatly benefit by learning from their expertise in waste management, health, and education technologies.”
