In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) observed cybersecurity awareness month in October by organising a series of activities aimed at promoting cyber awareness and best practices among its workforce.
As part of the campaign, the DMRC hosted several high-level events, including the UITP India Urban Rail Conference 2025 on the theme ‘Success Stories of Global Cities’. The conference, attended by delegates from India, Canada, Spain, Portugal and Austria, focused on innovative approaches and international collaborations in the field of urban rail and cybersecurity.
A CISOs roundtable was also held, bringing together cyber information security officers (CISO) from public and private organisations to exchange insights and strategies for enhancing cyber resilience.
The awareness month featured participation from key experts in the field, including Dr Gulshan Rai, former National Cyber Security Coordinator, and Dr Sanjay Bahl, Director General of CERT-IN, whose sessions offered insights on evolving cyber challenges.
The month-long campaign concluded with an address by Col Nidhish Bhatnagar, former Director of Rashtriya Raksha University, who underscored the importance of safe online behaviour and adherence to cybersecurity best practices.
The DMRC also organised the Cyber Security Quiz Competition 2025 in two stages including an online and an offline round.
