Minister opens 6th Nadi Utsav

The 6th edition of Nadi Utsav, organised by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) under the Ministry of Culture, was inaugurated on Thursday by Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil at the IGNCA, Janpath. The festival, celebrating rivers as vital ecological and cultural lifelines, drew scholars, artists, practitioners, and students.

In his address, Patil highlighted the significance of rivers in sustaining communities and shaping India’s cultural ethos. “India is a land of rivers. The Ganga flows through our nation, and it is our duty not to pollute it,” he said.

He added that river conservation was being pursued at short, mid, and long-term levels under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Water Vision@2047’ initiative.
