Minister reviews ALIMCO’s Kanpur facility
Delhi’s Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh on Thursday inspected the manufacturing unit of the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) at Kanpur to ensure the provision of modern and improved assistive devices for persons with disabilities (Divyangjans) in the Capital.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to the empowerment of Divyangjans, Singh said, the government is actively contributing to the success of the Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan). “These modern, user-friendly devices will benefit Divyangjans across Delhi and help improve their quality of life,” he said.
During the visit, ALIMCO Chairman and Managing Director Praveen Kumar gave the minister a detailed overview of the organisation’s state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities. The minister lauded ALIMCO’s role in supporting the needs of divyangjans and said a discussion was held on potential collaboration under the Delhi Government’s Sugamya Sahayak Yojana (Accessible Assistance Scheme).
