India would host the prestigious Miss World Pageant this year, the event returning to India after 1996, igniting excitement and anticipation worldwide. With esteemed past winners like Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, and Manushi Chhillar, the country is ready to shine on the global stage once again.

The press launch of the 71st edition of the Miss World Festival witnessed a historic gathering, featuring reigning Miss World Karolina Bielawska alongside former titleholders Toni-Ann Singh, Vanessa Ponce De Leon, Manushi Chhillar and Stephanie Del Valle.

The Miss World Pageant, scheduled to commence with ‘The Opening Ceremony’ and ‘India Welcomes the World Gala’ in the Capital, promises to be a captivating spectacle, attracting participants from around 120 countries. Festivities will begin on February 18, with early rounds held in Delhi, leading up to the grand finale on March 9 in Mumbai.

Speaking at the press launch, Julia Morley, CEO of the Miss World Organisation, expressed her deep affection for India, stating, “Having the 71st Miss World Festival in this country means a lot to me.” The sentiment was echoed by the pageant winners, who eagerly anticipated the cultural exchange and global spotlight on India.

Reflecting on the unique experiences India offers, Bielawska remarked on the country’s vibrant lifestyle and diverse cuisine. Chillar, who is set to grace the silver screen with her upcoming movie Operation Valentine, expressed her excitement about showcasing India’s beauty and culture through the film. Toni-Ann Singh, visiting India for the first time, is eager to explore her roots, while Stephanie Del Valle, returning to India, looks forward to reconnecting with the country she fondly remembers.

As the world eagerly anticipates the crowning of the next Miss World, India stands ready to host a celebration of beauty, culture and diversity like never before.
