The recently inaugurated Modi Gallery in the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya (Prime Minister Museum) opened its doors to the public on Tuesday.
President Droupadi Murmu had visited the gallery as its first visitor a day before the official opening. A significant part of the museum, the gallery showcases India’s progress during the Modi era through schemes, foreign policies and more.
Despite a relatively modest footfall on the first day due to limited awareness about the gallery’s opening, visitors expressed keen interest in its various sections.
Showcasing Prime Minister’s journey from humble beginnings to recent exploits on the Tejas fighter jet, the gallery is designed to captivate visitors with its innovative use of technology and engaging exhibits.
Pragati Sankhla, the exhibit supervisor, highlighted the virtual ride as a major attraction. He described it as a helicopter VR experience showcasing the nation’s futuristic developments.
Chandrama, the gallery operator, pointed out that the Digital India section, followed by the VR ride, garnered the most attention.
This section features interactive initiatives, including a Covid-19 area where visitors can witness the Modi government’s response to the pandemic through a microscope. Additionally, there’s a Chandrayaan-3 section that allows visitors to experience the sight from rocket launch to landing by giving commands themselves.
The Digital India area, with a game embedding information about government schemes, completes the digital section.
Sankhla also spoke about plans for a submarine VR ride with a capacity of 21 people, which, despite technical delays, is expected to be operational soon.
