The Delhi BJP’s new state office building on Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU) Marg is likely to be inaugurated on September 29 in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party president JP Nadda, party sources said.

Preparations for the ceremony are in full swing. “Invitation for the new party office’s inauguration has been sent to the Prime Minister’s Office and he is likely to attend, though a final confirmation is awaited,” said a senior party functionary.

The new office, spread across an 825 sq. metre plot, incorporates elements of South Indian architecture, with tall entrance pillars and a distinctive façade. The five-storey building has a built-up area of 30,000 sq. ft., designed with eco-friendly features and modern clearances including fire safety and occupancy certificates.

It includes two basement levels for parking, a ground-floor reception, canteen and conference room, as well as a 300-seat auditorium on the first floor. Offices for BJP’s Delhi unit cells and staff will be located on the second floor, while senior functionaries will occupy the third floor. The top floor will house offices for the Delhi BJP president, general secretary (organisation), MPs and state in-charges.

At present, the party operates from a bungalow near Gurudwara Rakabganj on Pandit Pant Marg, where space constraints have long been cited as a challenge. Party leaders said the new office would provide dedicated facilities for various wings of the organisation.
