BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda today took part in a cleanliness drive at the Saint Guru Ravidas Temple in Karol Bagh.
The initiative comes following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for a sanitation campaign at pilgrimage sites and temples. The campaign that was launched on Sunday is aimed at cleaning premises of various religious sites from January 14 to 22.
Nadda said, “On the call of PM Modi, Bharatiya Janata Party workers will clean the premises of every pilgrimage site or temple from January 14 to 22. The BJP will also conduct kirtan in every temple.”
Nadda engaged in the cleanliness work for half an hour at the Karol Bagh temple. He also joined the Mahila Mandal of the temple in singing hymns.
Reflecting on the upcoming consecration of the Ram Temple, Nadda urged everyone to light a lamp in their house on January 22 and join the nationwide Ram Jyotimala initiative in honour of Lord Rama.
Nadda also praised Saint Ravidas his inspirational life and commended the rendition of a bhajan based on Saint Ravidas’ life by sisters in the temple.
BJP national general secretary Dushyant Gautam and Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva also took part in the ongoing cleanliness campaign. The party leaders said that the initiative signifies the party’s commitment to maintaining the sanctity and hygiene of religious places across the country.
