NCC annual Republic Day camp begins in Delhi

As many as 2,361 NCC cadets are part of the annual Republic Day camp that kicked off in the national capital on Monday.

The cadets have been selected from all 28 states and eight Union Territories, the Ministry of Defence said.  

The camp started at the Cariappa Parade Ground at the Delhi Cantt with an all-religion prayer.

This year, 917 girl cadets are part of the camp, which is the highest number of girls at the camp ever.

The party includes 114 cadets from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and 178 cadets from North East Region.

In addition, cadets and officers from 14 Friendly Foreign Countries will participate in the camp as part of a Youth Exchange Programme.

NCC director general Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh welcomed the cadets advising them to display the highest qualities of character, integrity, selfless service and teamwork.
