Neighbour held for raping minor

A 17-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Karawal Nagar, police officials said on Friday.

According to officials, a PCR call regarding the incident was received at the Karawal Nagar police station on February 13.

“The victim reported that her neighbour called her on the pretext of some work at a house in Karawal Nagar around 12 pm. He forcefully made physical relations with her at the house,” a senior police officer said.

Following the complaint, the girl was taken for a medical examination at GTB Hospital, and her counseling was conducted, the police said.

“Based on her statement, a case has been registered under Sections 64(1) and 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at the Karawal Nagar Police Station. The accused has been arrested and further investigations are on in the case,” the officer added.
