New Delhi: A fire broke out at a jeans manufacturing unit located at the Badli industrial area in outer Delhi on Monday morning, officials said. A call regarding the fire incident was received at 7 am and 15 fire tenders were pressed into service, an official of the Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said. The official said the fire broke out at the ground floor of the three-storeyed building, which was brought under control after five hours of operation. He said no one was injured in the incident but several articles, including clothes and furniture, were gutted in the fire. The fire was caused due to a short circuit. PTI
JNU teachers begin strike
New Delhi: Members of the Jawaharlal Nehru University Teachers’ Association began a 24-hour hunger strike on campus on Monday to protest against alleged delays in promotions. There was no immediate response from Jawaharlal Nehru University Vice-Chancellor Santishree D Pandit on the hunger strike and the allegation. More than a dozen professors from various departments associated with the JNUTA joined the sit-in at the School of Languages lawn. PTI

New Delhi: The Indian Railways and National Capital Region Transport Corporation have collaborated to promote the ‘One India-One Ticket’ initiative, enhancing the travel experience for passengers on main line railway and Namo Bharat trains, a statement said on Monday. This collaboration aims to provide a seamless travel solution, making it easier for passengers to book and travel using both the Indian Railways and the RRTS services, it said. pti
