The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed multiple government agencies to submit proper, authorised reports on the status of the ponds at Mundka village of West Delhi district after identifying serious lapses in earlier submissions.

After a case was filed by Dr Jeet Singh Yadav, who alleged that several ponds in the village had been encroached upon or degraded, the NGT sought status reports from respondents including the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and others. The tribunal found multiple deficiencies: missing documents, submissions by unauthorised officers and affidavits from parties not formally involved in the case.

The MD of DSIIDC and the West Delhi DC have been ordered to submit revised reports via an affidavit.
